2012 ELITE SHOWCASE BASKETBALL CLASSIC and MONICA WRIGHT STUDENT ATHLETE AWARD  Often we hear the term "Student Athlete", as part of the ESBC recognition we are proud to acknowledge Donald Eric Jones, Senior at C.D. Hylton High School for his impressive and outstanding academic accomplishments. 

While participating on the Varsity Basketball team for Hylton High School Donald maintains a 3.8 grade point average, additionally he has been accepted into James Madison University and East Carolina. He awaiting decision from Yale and Princeton Universities. His full story will be featured in the 2012 ESBC Media Guide.

PERSONAL Donald Eric Jones, Jr. also known as DJ attends C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge, VA.  Donald is the Senior Class President and has also served as the Junior and Sophomore Class President. He is a member of the Superintendent�s Advisory Council, National Honor Society, Student Council Association, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Edge Club, Freshmen Student Mentor and Dr. Martin Luther King Youth Oratorical Representative. Donald has received perfect attendance awards since elementary school and has also received Academic Achievement Awards while in the 10th, 11th and 12th Grades.

ATHLETICS  While participating in many extracurricular activities Donald played on the Hylton High School Varsity Golf Team since his freshman year, he became Captain and received the Coaches Awards during junior and senior years. Additionally he played on the Varsity Basketball Team and was selected to the 2011-12 Second Team All District Basketball Team. He also received the Virginia High School League Cardinal District Academic Achievement Awards for Varsity Golf and Basketball.  Donald played with the Virginia Elite AAU Basketball Team for 2 years and was also a team captain both years.

ACADEMIC In June 2011, Donald was one of three students selected from CD Hylton High School as a delegate to attend the 69^th Session of the Virginia Boys State that was held at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. While there, Donald was voted to serve as a Senator in the House of Senators for Henry City and was awarded the Good Citizenship Award for Henry City.

In September 2011, Donald was recognized with the National Youth Salute Council along 170 high school seniors in Prince William County. The selections were made based on outstanding leadership, academics and community service. 

On January 28, 2012, Donald received the Youth Citizen of the Year Award from the Dale City Civic Association. He received this award for outstanding community service and leadership for Dale City, Virginia.
